2016 Reading

By now I should be nine almost ten books into my 2016 reading Challenges. I have one book read out of the twenty-four total I am challenging myself to read. I have two challenges of twelve books each I am trying to complete. My personal reading challenge; 12 of the 100 Books to Read in a Lifetime and the one from The Modern Mrs. Darcy Blog, the one book that I have completed so far is one for the Modern Mrs. Darcy Reading Challenge, a book published this year. The book I have read that was published this year is Stardust in Dixie by Beth Albright. It is part of a series so of course I was all over that. It was a good book and I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I love those Sassy Belles. I need to get my butt in gear reading though; I have some big books on my list. The next book I think I am going to read is Me Before You by JoJo Moyes. Just in case I want to see the movie, because if a movie is based on a book you never see the movie before reading the book!

Daydreams in Dixie

I am loving the books by Beth Albright.  The Sassy Belles were great and the In Dixie Series is just as good.  But maybe that is because the Original Sassy Belles are making appearances.  Daydreams in Dixie is the third in the In Dixie Series and may just be my favorite so far.  I love escaping to Tuscaloosa with the Belles.  Vivi is by far my favorite belle but Annabelle is right there behind her.  This is book is Annabelle story of finding her happily ever after.  Let me tell you if you love a good southern romance the Sassy Belles and In Dixie series’ are for you.

Southern Belle Reads and Sassy Belles

Well I have finally gotten my zest for reading back.  All it took were a few sassy belles.  I have been reading the books by Beth Albright in the Sassy Belles series and I am loving them.  I can’t get enough of Vivi, Blake, Dallas, and now Rhonda.  I would love to have the sassy belles as my friends (if they were real of course and I lived in Alabama).   The books in the series are The Sassy BellesWedding BellesSleigh BellesSaved by the Belles, and now two spin offs with some of the same characters Magic in Dixie and Christmas in Dixie.  I highly recommend these books to anybody but especially a Southern Belle or better yet a Sassy Belle.

Southern Belle Reads: Gone, Belles, and Christmas.

This Southern Belle has been reading a bit more.  After a very long reading slump I am starting to pick up the reading pace.  I’m not where I once was but that’s okay.  I have a lot on my plate and adding more often, so I may never get back to where I was.  I’m still trying to finish “Gone Girl”,  I have 15% left to read and it’s starting to feel like it’s going to take a lot for me to pick it up and finish reading it.  I don’t hate the book but I don’t love it either.  I just want it to be over.  There have been so many times while reading it that I have thought about going to the last chapter just to see how it ends, but I have not and I am not going to.  I will finish this book and hopefully soon.  But a series of books that I am absolutely loving is the Sassy Belles Series.  I am now on the third book in the series, “Sleigh Belles”.  To me this series is the perfect Southern Belle read.  Finally I have started reading Christmas Novellas for the month of December.  The Christmas Catch was the first one I read and I loved it.  It was a nice light read for this time of year.  Time to keep on reading.
