Southern Belle Reads: Sneak Peak What I’ve Been Reading

Here is a sneak peak at what I have been reading. More detailed posts on each book coming soon.

Southern Belle Reads: 2015 Reading Challenges

I have decided to make a few changes to my personal reading challenge.  Instead of 12 Civil War Novels and 12 Self Help Novels, I have decided to do 6 Civil War Novels and 6 Self Help Novels.  I think that is a much better break down.  Plus I don’t think it will burn me out, I think the 12 and 12 was just a little too much.  I will keep you posted!

I Need A Vacation

I am beyond ready for a Vacation!  I need a vacation more and more each day.  I honestly think I am about to lose my mind or may already have.  Good thing my next vacation is less than two weeks away.  I am so ready to curl up with my Paperwhite and read a good book, maybe take in a new city (New Orleans), visit beautiful old Southern Mansions, eat delicious Southern Food, and sleep past 6:00 in the morning (hopefully).  Yeah this vacation is much needed.

A Letter To My Readers

Dear Readers,

First, I want to thank you my readers for sticking with me as I find the right path for Southern Belle Charm.  I love writing this Blog!  So with that being said I think its time to make a few changes and take Southern Belle Charm in a different direction.  No I am not giving up the blog, in fact I could not give it up, it is my “baby” and I want to see it grow.  So I have decided no more certain day blog posts with a certain topic.  For now on its going to be all random all the time, so the posts could be on any given day and about any given thing.  I will still have posts time from time about NASCAR, Cooking, or Reading.  Because all three of these are a big part of my life, but writing is my passion.  I hope you enjoy the changes and again Thank You for reading and sticking with me.

Southern Belle Reads Friday: Wow!

This week I finished Nicholas Sparks’s “Safe Haven”.  Wow!  Is the only thing I can say about this book.  It is like none of his other books.  I knew what it was about a little bit because I did see the movie.  I knew it would be different then the movie though too because books and movies are never the same.  This book really hits on a subject that not many people want to talk about, domestic abuse.  I know it happens but this book gives the readers I really good look at it, in some ways it was a real eye opener.

Southern Belle Reads Friday: Almost There

Well I am still reading “Anything He Wants”. I have less than a hundred pages so I am getting there slow but sure. I feel like my reading slum is on the verge of being over though, or at least I hope it is. I have so many great books waiting on me to decide to pick them up. I don’t know what has gotten in to me lately.

Southern Belle Reads Friday: Coming Out Of My Funk

This week I have been reading “Anything He Wants” by Sara Fawkes, and while it is starting to get me out of my funk I am still there.  I need an EPIC novel to draw me out of my winter reading blues.   I have a whole stack of books and a lot of kindle books I want to read but I just can not make my self pick them up.  At the rate I’m going I am not going to make my goal of 55 books in 2013.  Summer’s coming so hopefully my passion for reading is coming back with it.

Southern Belle Reads Friday: Reading Funk

I love to read but right now I seem to be in a bit of a reading funk. Nothing I pick up is appealing to me right now. I don’t like it when I get like this because reading is such a great way to “get away” from reality. Hopefully my funk will end soon.  I am in a great need to get away from reality right now.

Hello to My Readers

Welcome to Southern Belle Charm, my name is Angela.  In my heart I am a Southern Belle.  Here’s is a little 411 on me.

I love NASCAR!  I have a few favorite drives.  My favorite vacation spot is the Outer Banks of NC, my second favorite vacation spot is Rapid City, SD.  I know two totally different ends of the spectrum.  I love to read!  “Gone With the Wind” is my favorite book and one of my favorite movies.  “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” maybe my favorite movie though.  My other favorite kinds of books include Romance and Christian Fiction.  I love to bake!  And I am starting to dive into the world of cooking a little bit more.  It seems as of late I have started a Cookbook Collection.  I love dogs and in fact of two of them.
