Two weeks ago, we were on Day Two of our No Diapers at Disney Trip. Last week, I was just trying to make it through my First Day Back to Work after said trip. I love those kids but wow, this was the most exhausting Disney Trip I have had. We had fun and I surely hope the kids had fun but I do not see that happening again anytime soon, if at all. I will stick to my adult only Disney trips. I had to come back to work to relax and my next vacation is not until October when we go to the Outer Banks. At least I know there will be relaxing there. I can read a book and watch the ocean, so peaceful. Now that the trip is over and I have recovered from it, it is time to focus on making some much-needed improvements to my blog. Thank you for sticking with me. 2019 is going to be a good year I can feel it. I just had to get past this one little hurdle.
You probably all know by now that the Outer Banks of North Carolina is one of my favorite places. It is what I long for when I need rest and relaxation. It is in my blood and has been sine my first visit. So I love when I find books based in the Outer Banks. Which makes my current “car reads” perfect. A series of books based in the Outer Banks. And fitting that I am reading them during the summer. Steamy weather and even steamier stories. There are five total so that should cover most of the summer!
1) Stay at the Grand Floridian at Disney World
2) Christmas in the Outer Banks
3) Thanksgiving in the Outer Banks
4) Go to Disney World with the love of my life *
5) Go to the Outer Banks with the love of my life *
6) Stay at the Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth Michigan
7) Find a job working from the road
8) Go to a NASCAR race
9) Camp at Disney World
10) Give the kids the perfect Disney World vacation
* but first I have to find the love of my life
Sunday night I finished the first book and started the second book in the Outer Banks Baker Mystery Series by Phoebe T. Eggli. These are not the best written books but they are just what I need right now. A nice easy read where not much thinking is required. I like a more complex book but right now I have so much going on it’s nice to have something less complex. There are three total in the series and they are such easy reads that as long as I find time to read I should be able to get the other two out within the next week/week in a half. And they are based in the Outer Banks so that in itself makes them a must read for me.
I finished the last book in the Dare Island Series over the weekend and my plan was to start The Beach House by Mary Alice Monroe. And I did but I was not ready to leave the Outer Banks behind for the South Carolina Low country. So I started The Outer Banks Baker Mystery.
Well I am starting the last book in the Dare Island Series today. It is bittersweet, I like moving on to a new series but I will miss the characters from this series. That is the best part about series the characters start to feel like family/friends. The other down side about finishing this series is no more Outer Banks. I loved feeling like I was back in the Outer Banks while reading these. But I have tons of options at home on which direction to head next. I am not lacking on book choices that is for sure.
A few updates I thought I would share.
I have been on a role as of late. I caught up on the Morgan’s Run Series and started a new series, Dare Island. I am two books in on that and can’t wait to read the other three and a half. But I am taking a little detour right now so I can read the next book becoming a Passionflix movie.
The kids keep us hoping that’s for sure. But I love them to pieces. The two year old is really becoming her own person. And a bag lady just like her auntie. The three year old will be four soon and he is becoming a little man. I truly think I am one of his favorite people and that melts my heart. These two little ones are my Disney Nerds. They love watching Disney Sing Along Songs in the car and watching YouTube videos of Disney World rides at home. The eight year old well she is eight going on eighteen (so she things). Boy does she have mood swings. She hates everybody and she’s not afraid to tell you either.
No Book Purchases September/October
Well that was a complete bust. I did pretty good in September but feel off the wagon in October. Hopefully November and December will be better.
Now that my much anticipated Outer Banks trip is over I am starting to have Disney withdraws. Hopefully a February/March trip is in the plans.
Life in General
My best friend from college moved further down in Kentucky this summer so now my two closest girlfriends (that are the same age) do not live close to me. I think I need to make some much overdue changes to my life. I will work on them. Still waiting for Mr Right to sweep me off my feet.
