Another Valentine’s Day where my date is with two guys I have never even met but their names are known worldwide and I’m sure a few other singles will be having a date with them as well, Ben & Jerry. Oh, how I love their Chunky Monkey. That’s right I am talking about ice cream here, no minds in the gutter! That is my special treat to myself each Valentine’s Day, a pint of Chunky Monkey ice cream. Don’t worry I don’t eat the whole pint, but I could if I would let myself. I was really hoping that maybe this year would be different but no such luck. My Prince Charming/Rhett Butler is lost somewhere and won’t ask for directions or he has completely fallen off his horse and has broken something, lying in a ditch somewhere. Oh well, I will make the best of it. With Valentine’s Day being on a Tuesday this year at least I will have my men of New Orleans, NCIS New Orleans. I did receive flowers from a handsome dude. Of course he’s three so technically his mommy bought them, but he was so proud of himself when he gave them to me .
Lately my TV watching has been all over the board. I love shows like Blue Bloods, Castle, NCIS: New Orleans, Criminal Minds, Major Crimes, and Rizzoli and Iles. Then of course there is my addiction to the Food Network. My favorite is the Pioneer Woman, but I also like Triple D, and I have been getting into triple G. But the last couple weekends I have been addicted to Flea Market Flip on GAC. That’s right Flea Market Flip!!! I have no clue where that came from! I am not crafty like that at all but I enjoy seeing what the two teams can make out of stuff they purchased at a Flea Market. And let me tell you they have made some interesting things! And then there are some that are just flops. I first starting watching this show the weekend before last and this past weekend I found myself looking for this show on TV. It’s funny how are TV viewing can range so far.
Ever since my, way too short, visit to New Orleans earlier this year, I have been enamored with that city. I want to take in everything New Orleans. I think that is one of the reasons I am loving NCIS: New Orleans so much. I am reading the book of blog posts by author Heather Graham titled “Why I Love New Orleans”. I find myself looking for romance novels set in New Orleans. Heck, I am even waiting to stay at Port Orleans French Quarter one night when we go to Florida in November just so I can see what it is like. We always stay at Riverside when we go but I want to try the French Quarter once. I purchased a Mega Millions ticket last week and I said one of the first things I would do if I won was take a trip to New Orleans so I could get it out of my system. I never dreamed I would be drawn to this one of a kind city like I was but I am in complete and utter awe.
It’s official! I am addicted to NCIS: New Orleans. That’s right, I can’t stand the original NCIS but throw in a Southern City and a few hot guys that talk Southern and I am a goner! I can not wait for the new season to start but first I have about 4 more episodes to catch up on from season one. I can do that in one night though. September can not get here fast enough for me right now.
