My Disney Favorites Week Day 3: Be Our Guest

I fell in love with this restaurant last year. The details from the movie are amazing. The ceiling of the ballroom is just like the ceiling in the movie and there is a snowing wall. The food is good too. You can even try the grey stuff. And meet the Beast at dinner.

Southern Belle Foodie

Dictionary.com defines Foodie as: a person keenly interested in food, especially in eating or cooking

I would say I am a foodie. I love trying new places and there are restaurants we go to just for the food, no matter how long the drive or wait is. I would even have to say our Disney Vacations are all about the food. I thought I would share some of my foodie favorites from the road and at home.

My Disney Vacation 2017 Day 3 Magic Kingdom

dscn0777.jpg

Even at thirty-three years old the Magic Kingdom is probably my favorite Disney Park.  I think it is the atmosphere of the park.  There is nothing like walking through the front gate seeing the train station and then emerging from the tunnel and seeing the beginning of Main Street USA and then rounding the corner from the circle acrystal palacend seeing Cinderella’s castle welcoming you.  And this trip to the Magic Kingdom found me finding one of my two new favorite restaurants, The Crystal Palace.  We had breakfast and the Crystal Palace

and I really enjoyed it.  Not only did I like the food at the Crystal Palace I thought it was very pretty in there too.  That will be a must do on my next Disney Vacation, with or without kids, even though it is character dinning.  Of course our day at the Magic Kingdom (that day) turned pretty soggy quickly after breakfast.  No sooner we got on rainy daythe train at the Main Street Station to make a loop around the park, a thunderstorm rolled in and we had to exit the train at the first stop.  So we decided to make it a short day at the Magic Kingdom, but would return later for dinner.  One thing that was really cool to see was as we were working our way to the exit there was a rainy day parade.  Dinner that night was at Tony’s Town Square, which used to be one of my favorites at the Magic Kingdom but it really didn’t do much for me this time.  I love the Lady and the Tramp theme but the food was just okay this time.  After dinner it was almost time to catch Wishes for one last time.  I am really going to miss that stony's town squarehow but I can’t wait to see the new one.  It is just so cool watching fireworks with a castle in front of it.  (We ended up watching the fireworks from the back of the Castle this night.) fireworks

Disney Picture Week Day 3

A few years ago, I got the chance to go to Disney in early November.  The first day when I walked into the Magic Kingdom it was still fall but within two days it was Christmas.  While the Christmas celabration had not officially started the castle was all aglow.  This will probably be the closest I will get to Disney at Christmas so I am truly thankful for it and I’m glad I can say I’ve seen the castle glowing in lights.

Disney Photo Week Day 1

This is a sight I never get tired of seeing.  Main Street USA and Cinderella’ Castle just bring a smile to my face and a spring to my step.  I know when I see them I am in a place where I know I am going to have fun and enjoy feeling like a kid again.  To me the Magic Kingdom really is magical, I walk in that gate and it’s like I’m a child again and it’s okay, even though I’m an adult.  It’s okay for adults to walk around wearing hats with mouse ears wearing shirts with cartons eating overly sweet treats in the shape of a mouse head.

Goodbye Wishes

I have mixed feelings about Disney doing away with Wishes at the Magic Kingdom. While I love the nightly fireworks show and will miss it, I am also excited to see what they come up with next.  I think Disney has the best nighttime shows, so I can’t imagine this new show will be any different.  We are going in May right before Wishes says good bye so I will get to see Wishes one last time and see the Animal Kingdom’s Rivers of Lights for the first time all in one visit.

I’m A Little Sad Today

I am a little sad this morning; I am not going to lie.  The past two years on this first Saturday in May we have been going into Disney World for our vacation.  I thought I would be okay with not going this spring but it is turning out that I am not.  I want to see the Castle, The Tree of Life, and the EPCOT Ball.  I want to feel the pain in my feet from walking so much around the parks.  I want to taste the wonderful food at all my favorite restaurants, watch the evening firework shows and then go back to the hotel and crawl into that wonderful bed at Port Orleans.  Surprisingly I am even a little sad about missing the Flower and Garden Show.  I never really dreamed I would like it that much.  I have two Disney shirts sitting here with tags still on; I bought them when I thought we were going back this spring.  Now they are waiting to go just like me.   I need to get my Disney Side on! Hopefully a trip this fall will work out I am having Disney withdraws.

Disney Week Day 5: The Food

I have not had a bad meal at Disney.  I have had a few that were better than others but never horrible.  The past two years we have had the Deluxe Meal Plan, and you can eat with that plan.  With that in mind I planed to try as many new restaurants as we could but also hit some of the better ones from last year.  I’m glad we did we found a few new favorites.

Disney Week Day 4: The Shows

Magic Kingdom Fire Works

The shows at Disney World are amazing! Especially the nighttime shows.  The team of people working on the shows do a wonderful job.  FromMagic Kingdom Street Party parades, to live action shows, to firework shows one is better than the next.  Three of my favorite shows are the nighttime shows at the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT.  I recently heard Animal Kingdom is going to start having a nighttime show too.  If they are I can’t wait to see it, I just know it will be good.  The Magic Kingdom even has a street party celebration parade.  Two of my other favorite shows are the live action shows of Beauty and the Beast at Hollywood Studios and Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom.  Here are my favorite shows listed by park.
