I have never been a huge fan of the show When Calls The Heart but I was pretty excited about the season that just ended Sunday night when I heard Viv Leacock was joining the cast. He is great in the Hailey Dean Mysteries and the Christmas Movie Maggie’s Christmas Miracle. But even him joining the show could not get to be to tune back in next season. I’m not sure what is going on but this season was horrible. I’m sure COVID had something to do with it but I would of had no season at all compared to the crap they put out this season. Guess it’s Home Town for me on Sunday nights all the time now. And to be completely honest I feel like the Hallmark Channel in general is not what it used to be.
We are roughly a month into the Christmas Movies so I thought I would share with you the ones I have liked so far.
🎄 Never Kiss A Man In A Christmas Sweater
🎄 Christmas With The Darlings
🎄 One Royal Holiday
Hallmark Movies and Mysteries:
🎄 The Christmas Doctor
🎄 Deliver by Christmas
🎄 The Christmas Ring
I am not completely sold on the Lifetime Movies but I did like The Yule Blog one.
On a side note: I love White Christmas but have not watched it yet this holiday season. But I have never seen Miracle on 34th Street or It’s a Wonderful Life. Maybe 2020 will have to be the year. 😷
I am not a huge fan of Carrie Underwood’s but I have been listening to her new Christmas album some and I will admit she can belt out the hymns. On a side note nobody sings White Christmas like Bing Crosby. Guess you know my favorite Christmas song and album now.

Christmas Movie Season has started! I just love when the Christmas Movies start playing 24/7. Here are a few takeaways I have observed from the first full week.
1) Lifetime does not have movies 24/7 (even though they are advertising it)
2) I’m not sold on this Saturday and Sunday 8:00 new movies on Hallmark and 10:00 new movies at 10:00 on Movies and Mysteries. I get why they are doing it, but that means I have to stay up till 12:00 if I’m really into the Sunday night movie and my alarm goes off at 4:40 on Monday morning.
3) While the Lifetime Movies are okay they just don’t hold up the Hallmark Movies (at least to me).
4) Maybe it’s because we went so long without new movies I am actually enjoying some of the new movies and not feeling like they are the same plot just with different actors.
Last night was the When Calls the Heart season finally. First it feels like it just started back up after the unplanned break and now it is already done for the year. Second I was very disappointed with the ending. I still feel like they need to recast Abigail because I feel like there is so much that still needs to be addressed that includes her. But I’m liking that new Mountie more and more with each episode.
I am not a huge When Calls the Heart fan but I did tune in last night to see how they wrote Lori Laughlin’s character out. I really think in the long run they should recast her. I think what they did for now is just a bandaid, her character is too important for the show. But on another note I’m really liking that new Mountie. But then again he also plays on one of my other favorite shows Heartland.
Side Note: because When Calls the Heart was on at the same time as the new Hailey Dean Mysteries movie last night I was torn on which one to watch. This is how you know you really are a Hallmark Junkie, I had one playing on my kindle while the other was playing on my tv.
Have any of you read any of the Hallmark books yet? I have tried to read a few, multiple times. The problem for me is I just can’t focus on a book that follows a movie I have seen so many times so close. There are a few coming out now that are not based on current Hallmark Movies. Maybe these i can get into. There is one coming out this summer I am really looking forward to. It’s by one of my favorite authors; Liz Talley. This is another reason I am a strong believer in reading the book before seeing the movie.
After watching the Hallmark Channel movie Winter Castle, I was intrigued by the idea of warm milk with honey. Mainly is this something people really drink? So I did what I do best, I googled it! And I found multiple recipes and many positive reviews. So I tried it, and I have to say I am a fan. What is nice for a coffee lover like me, this gives me a non-caffeine alternative before bed. Especially here as late since it’s be cold and snowy for the last week and half.
Christmas movies started on Hallmark this weekend. Both the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. They even had their first new premier Christmas at Pemberly Manor. I was not sure if I would like that one being such a Pride and Prejudice fan but I did. The only bad thing, my Christmas movies kept getting interrupted by Halloween commercials. I have to admit I even listened to Christmas music this weekend.
The one Hallmark Christmas movie I was looking forward to the most was the one that disappointed me most. And to top it off it was the Hallmark Gold Crown Movie. Maybe if I had a chance to read the book before I saw the movie then I would have known what to expect but that movie totally blindsided me. The movie I’m talking about, if you don’t already know is The Christmas Train.
Now I did surprisingly like Christmas in Evergreen. That might be my favorite of the 2017 Hallmark Movies. That and the one about finding Santa.
The Hallmark Channel started their Christmas movies this weekend. Our tv has not been off the Hallmark Channel all weekend. I decided this morning as I was watching one of them I wish my life was a Hallmark movie. Then I could land my dream job and Mr Right at the same time. But this is reality and I’m still waiting for both.
