A few months ago I made the decision to take a step back from Facebook, in my personel life, and honestly it has been the best thing. Let me say I have not given it up completly. I had already stepped back from posting on facebook but stepping back from facebook all together in my opinion has been nice. The best way for me to do that was to remove the app from my phone and other electronic devices. I still look at facebook from time to time to see what is going on mainly in the Disney groups I follow. For me at least when it is not right at my fingertips (aka the app) I don’t feel the need to check it everytime I am looking at my phone. It takes more time to go through the internet to get there. The reason I decided to step back, in my opnion it should not be called Facebook it should be called Nosebook. I got sick and tired of that being the way people butted their noses into other people’s business. And I have a lot of family that was doing that so I decided to step back and not give them what they wanted. Like I said I still check in on my Disney groups from time to time but for me they are educational. That is where I learn the latests news coming out of the parks so to me that is not nosing. To my friends that read this that are friends with me on Facebook this is why you will not see me on there much. I do like Instagram though and I do plan to amp up the Blogs Facebook this year just not in my personal life.
We have a lot of Birthdays where I work and I seem to be the one who brings the sweets! So for another co-worker’s Birthday in March I made a Mounds cake. She had mention seeing one on Facebook and how good it looked. So I googled it and found a recipe, unfortunately now I don’t remember where I found this recipe. But I do have the recipe written down so have posted it below. Now I am not a fan of coconut so to me this was okay but everybody at work seemed to like it!
Make a boxed chocolate cake mix as directed (I used Dark Chocolate Fudge)
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
24 large marshmallows
14oz sweetened coconut
In pan melt marshmallows in with milk and sugar. Once marshmallows have melted stir in coconut. Pour coconut mixture over warm cake (I poked some holes in mine) and let in soak in. (I left mine for a few hours)
1 cup sugar
½ cup milk
1 stick of butter
1 ½ cups chocolate chips
Heat sugar, milk, and butter till it starts to boil, stir in chocolate chips until melted. Pour chocolate over coconut/cake.
One of my goals this year is to take Southern Belle Charm to the next level. It’s already on Facebook! But now it is on Instagram, and Pinterest! Next stop Twitter! I will update later with links for all. Hopefully by the weekend I will have all the links for you. As always thanks for reading!
I saw on Facebook and Twitter where Jimmie Johnson has been at Disney World this week with his family. I say good for him he deserves it. But then I also got to thinking what it would be like to be there at the same time. It would be so cool if you were walking down Main Street USA and oh I just passed Jimmie Johnson. Or as your climbing into the car at Test Track and who is getting out of the same car none other than the Six Time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion. Or at one of the restaurants when they take you to your table there sitting at the table next to you is Jimmie Johnson and family. I still think that would be really cool!
Southern Belle Charm has a Facebook Page! Please check it out!
