This Disney Trip was the most exausting both physicaly and mentaly. I love the kids but, wow! We had so many meltdowns this year. Overall the kids had a great time (I think) and the now five year old did so much better with the characters this year. She also lead the way in meltdowns. It was hot for most of the week so I am sure that is part of it. Again this year my boy was probalby the best (he had his moments too) but he is pretty much a go with the flow kind of kid. He by far is our roller coaster rider and he loved all the ones he rode. One of the things I am glad we got to do was the Pirate League at the Magic Kingdom. All three of the kids enjoyed their pirate makeover and I am so sad it is closing. The people were great and were wonderful with our three “priates to be”. Especially the little one. She is very shy and did not talk much but she so enjoyed getting her nails painted and her hair braided. She thought she was a princess and not a pirate in the making.

One in the Crowd of Many
It’s funny how sometimes you don’t notice something till you are one of them. For our Disney Trip in March we rented a twelve passanger van so we could all ride in one vechile. I have determined Orlando is the twleve passenger van capital of the world. Driving around a WalMart parking lot almost every third vechile is a tweleve passenger van. I loved that van, I sat in the backseat and it was like my own little world back there. I think we should rent one anytime we take a trip.
She Shed
For a few years now anybody that really knows me, knows I’ve been talking about wanting a She Shed. Well that reality might be one step closer. I would love to have a little place of my own where I can read and write and escape reality for a while. If I already had one I would have been out there a lot during these last two months.
My dream She Shed would have a place to read, a little desk to do some writing, maybe a mini Keurig so I can make coffee while I’m in there, and of course a fan. I’m thinking beach colors so it can be my little piece of the OBX in KY.
So I have officially started researching She Sheds. I was actually surprised how many books there are out there. I purchased a few to start and will purchase a few more if I need to.
What a Difference 30 Days Can Make
March 1st, I woke up to sun, warm temperatures, and the excitement of being on vacation. March 2nd was the start of my five days away from reality at “The Most Magical Place on Earth”. There was some tragedy while we were there, but my extent of news was news from the “little bubble” of Disney World. I never imagined March would end so differently than it started. Yes, the temperature is starting to rise, and the sun is shining more, and the flowers are in bloom here in Kentucky. But “The Most Magical Place on Earth” is closed and travel should not be done. My new reality is work Monday through Friday and home and in my PJ’s by 5:30. I’m trying to read as much as I can, as my reality escape, but I can only do that for so long. It’s amazing to me how things can change so drastically within one month.

Coming Soon…
All about my most recent Disney World Vacation.

October is Outer Banks Month
It was in October the first time I went to the Outer Banks and fell in love with it. October is the only time we go to the Outer Banks. So it is only fitting that October is Outer Banks month on the Southern Belle Charm Blog Instagram. All month long I will be sharing some of the photos from our six trips.
Outer Banks I’m Coming (Soon)
Next month I get to spend a week in the Outer Banks. This is the vacation I have been looking forward to all year. This will be the first truly relaxing vacation I have had in years. Don’t get me wrong I love my Disney vacations but they really are not relaxing. Yes they are great for escaping from reality but I’m still up before the sun rushing to get out the door to catch a bus to get to the park to get through the line and get to our breakfast reservation on time. And by the end of the night all I want to do is fall into bed. And don’t even get me started on Disney with kids, that was like a stress level 20 on a scale 1 to 10. And the Gulf Shores Trip last year was a stress level 50 on that same scale. I have a pile of books to take with me and two movies I’m going to take with me and I may not get to read or watch them and I really don’t care. I’m sleeping past 7 am and taking an afternoon nap if I want. All I know is the Outer Banks is good for the soul, or at least this Southern Belle’s soul.
A Few Updates
🌄 Last Week I spent a few days in the Smoky Mountains. That was the most relaxed I’ve been in a while.
🥩 I say I only go for the food. I swear I’m a foodie.
🦒🦘🐅🐘🦓🦍 I picked up a new obsession while I was gone, with all these zoo shows on Animal Planet.
🐕🐄🐎🐖🐑🐐 Of course I already loved Dr Pol on Nat Geo Wild.
📖 I finished my first 5&10 book and getting ready to start my second.
📚 I’m starting to pile my OBX reads. Can’t wait to be back in Corolla, the Outer Banks is good for this Southern Belle’s soul.
📱I am trying to take a personal hiatus from Facebook, we will see how that goes. But honestly I don’t do a lot on Facebook anyway.
⌚️I have joined the Apple Watch group. I didn’t think I would want one but I like it.
Updates
🏈🎀 The five year old is playing football and the four year old is cheering so this past Saturday morning was spent in the blazing sun watching them.
🏁 I don’t follow NASCAR like I used to but I’m not going to lie when I saw the headline Dale Earnhardt Jr was in a plane crash my heart sunk. He was my first NASCAR love. I’m glad him and his family and crew all survived.
📺 I still can not get into this new BH90210. I was super excited for it and it had been a big let down to me.
🏰 I think we have created a Disney Monster. The other day we had some stuff for the kids so we put it in an old Disney Parks bag we had and as soon at the four year old saw it she asked if we went to Disney without her.
🌅 I purchased Where the Crawdads Sing, looked at it and decided it would be my vacation read when we go to the Outer Banks in October.
📚 I thought I was getting my reading groove back but not really. I think part of the problem is I have so many books I want to read I just can’t decide which direction to head.
Traveling With Minnie Ears
Yesterday I shared my Minnie Ear Obsession with you. Now I have a question for all my fellow Disney loving Minnie ear wearing fans. How do you pack your Minnie ears when traveling? I’ve had a few ideas but none have panned out so far. I don’t want to just “throw” them in a bag but I want them protected too.
