And as the end of October…
As for the Modern Mrs Darcy reading Challenges I have decided they are not for me.
A few updates I thought I would share.
Reading
I have been on a role as of late. I caught up on the Morgan’s Run Series and started a new series, Dare Island. I am two books in on that and can’t wait to read the other three and a half. But I am taking a little detour right now so I can read the next book becoming a Passionflix movie.
Auntie Life
The kids keep us hoping that’s for sure. But I love them to pieces. The two year old is really becoming her own person. And a bag lady just like her auntie. The three year old will be four soon and he is becoming a little man. I truly think I am one of his favorite people and that melts my heart. These two little ones are my Disney Nerds. They love watching Disney Sing Along Songs in the car and watching YouTube videos of Disney World rides at home. The eight year old well she is eight going on eighteen (so she things). Boy does she have mood swings. She hates everybody and she’s not afraid to tell you either.
No Book Purchases September/October
Well that was a complete bust. I did pretty good in September but feel off the wagon in October. Hopefully November and December will be better.
Travel
Now that my much anticipated Outer Banks trip is over I am starting to have Disney withdraws. Hopefully a February/March trip is in the plans.
Life in General
My best friend from college moved further down in Kentucky this summer so now my two closest girlfriends (that are the same age) do not live close to me. I think I need to make some much overdue changes to my life. I will work on them. Still waiting for Mr Right to sweep me off my feet.
The Hallmark Channel started their Christmas movies this weekend. Our tv has not been off the Hallmark Channel all weekend. I decided this morning as I was watching one of them I wish my life was a Hallmark movie. Then I could land my dream job and Mr Right at the same time. But this is reality and I’m still waiting for both.
I had a realization today that hit me like a ton of bricks. When did I become the grown up with the pandora bracelet on my wrist, the Dooney and Burke purse on my shoulder, and the Lancôme makeup on my face? It felt like just yesterday I was the teenager that wore jelwrey from Clair’s and bought purses at Walmart. It was a crazy realization that I have come this far in my life.
Nestled on the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Louisville sits a small little town called Rabbit Hash, KY. Rabbit Hash is a quite little town where their mayor is a dog and the general store is still the place to catch up with neighbors and friends. This week Rabbit Hash lost a piece of it’s soul. A man that helped make this small little river town what it is. My thoughts and prayers go out to all that loved and lost this one of a kind man.
Last week was my Outer Banks vacation. We got back Sunday and by Monday I was ready to go back. Well actually, I didn’t want it to end to begin with, so I guess it was more like my desire to stay had increased by Monday. I have never needed a vacation as much as I did last week. It was so good to relax and enjoy the salt air, read as I was watching the tides, and spend time with my aunt. Since my grandma passed away a few years ago, she moved about 45 minutes to an hour away, and all the hustle and bustle of everyday means I don’t see her as much as I used to. So it was good to have a week to “catch up”. We took a sunset dolphin cruise and a wild horse tour. Plus we ate dinner together every night and breakfast together almost every morning. The house we rented was amazing. What more could we have asked for? It was just what this Southern Belle needed.
