The day it came out I took the 7-year-old to see the new Pete’s Dragon.  I liked it more than I thought I would!  I love the original and did not think this new one could hold up to it.  The original is still better in my opinion but this new Pete’s Dragon can hold its own.  I did really like the fact that Elliot seemed more real.  I wanted to reach out and hug him.  I was shocked to see Robert Redford in a Disney movie but I thought he did a great job.  I thought the two little kids did a great job as well as Bryce Dallas Howard.  This movie was a far cry from The Help.  The theater we saw it at just put in the reclining seats so that was my first time seeing a movie in the reclining seats.  Those were pretty impressive, I must say, even though I didn’t know how to work them at first.  The thing I was not impressed with was the 3D.  I could not see a difference in the 3D compared to a regular movie except for the fact that I had to pay more and wear those glasses the whole time.  I hope the 7-year-old could tell the difference and liked the 3D.
