Last night Dale Earnhardt Jr. did something in his career that his father was not able to do in his, win a second Daytona 500. It was an interesting day in Daytona. The day/race started off perfectly, but turned a little sour. After about 38 laps the rain came and soaked the track. It was after 8:30 last night before the race got restarted. What was supposed to be a day race ended up being a night race under the lights. And what a night race it was! After the red flag was lifted and the green flag was given for the first time it seemed to be the Dale Earnhardt Jr. show. The 88 car lead the most laps and battled multiple cars on multiple restarts to gain the victory. A few late race multicar accidents set the tone for the race But in the end it was the 88 Chevrolet of Dale Earnhardt Jr. that crossed the start/finish line first when it counted most. congratulations Dale Jr and the 88 team.
