Southern Belle Contemplates: Bye-Bye Isand Blooms

I knew this day would come but that doesn’t make it any easier.  My favorite Vera Bradley pattern of all time is being discontinued.  I don’t know why I like this pattern best but I have bought many things in this pattern.  It’s a summer pattern but it works all year-long.  It is Island Blooms.  To me it looks like it was made for a Southern Belle.  Good Bye Island Blooms, I’m going to miss you!

Southern Belle Reads: Si-cology 1

Last night I finished reading “Si-cology 1: Tales and Wisdom from Duck Dynasty’s Favorite Uncle”.  While it was different then both Phil’s book and Willie’s book I did enjoy reading it.  I really enjoyed learning a little more about him and his life.  While he is the “life” of the show you really don’t know as much about him as you do the other family members.  He talks about his life in the army, meeting and marrying the love of his life, his kids and even his grandkids.  This book really shows you a side of Uncle Si that one may not know exists.  I would recommend it for any Duck Dynasty fan.

Southern Belle Goodbye: Saying Goodbye To The Glades

Last week I could not get enough of “The Glades” on Netflix.  I was watching 5 or 6 episodes a day.  Then I learned that A&E cancelled the show after the season finale just a few weeks ago.  Not happy A&E, not happy!  Just when I was starting to get into it you go and take it away from me.  I am going to miss Jim Longworth.  Matt Passmore is great!  If it was not for Duck Dynasty I would give up on A&E all together.  You may be forcing me to go with out Detective Longworth anymore but I can’t go with out my Robertsons.  The Duck Boys make my week!

Southern Belle Contemplates: High School Football

Going to a High School that didn’t have a football team means I never went to High School football games when I was younger.  So now I have a cousin playing High School football for a different High School which means I am now going to High School football games.  I have been to two games in two weeks.  I really don’t know what I am watching but it is nice having someone to cheer on.  I think I will be going to a lot more High School football games in the next four years.

Southern Belle Contemplates: Fifty Shades of Gray The Movie

Last week who will play Christian Gray and Anastasia Steele in the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Gray was announced.  Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson.  I do not know anything about the two of them but I am kind of excited about them playing the main characters.  I think it is great they picked two unknowns and not two people who already have a star following, like Alexis Bledel and Matt Bomer.  Don’t get me wrong I think they are both good actors in their own right but I just think it is going to be better having fresh faces as the leads.  Now just to know who will be playing Gideon and Eva.  I can’t wait for the movie to come out now.  I want to see how Hunnam and Johnson do portraying Christian and Anastasia.

Southern Belle Cooks: The Pioneer Woman’s Baked Ziti

Almost two weeks ago now I made the Pioneer Woman’s Baked Ziti recipe.  It was delicious!  And I didn’t have as much cheese as the recipe called for.  So it could only get better with the right amount of cheese.  There was only two of us eating it that night so it made a little too much for the two of us.  I ate it for lunch for a whole week and even gave some to one of the ladies at work.  I really liked the fact that you made your own spaghetti sauce.  I never realized it was that easy to make spaghetti sauce and I actually think it was better than any jar sauce.  I would defiantly make it again, but I would try cutting the recipe in half, so I don’t end up with as much leftover.  I highly recommend trying this recipe.

Hello Readers

Sorry it has been a while since I last posted something.  The past few weeks have been a little crazy but it is time to let the craziness not get the best of me.  So for now one I hope to post regularly.  Thank you for your patience.
